32 Morden Road originated as a coach house and stable built in the mid-19th century, serving 103 Blackheath Park, which was constructed in the early 19th century.
During the 1930s the bottom end of the garden of 103 Blackheath Park and the garden of 99 Blackheath Park were divided to create three new freehold properties, now Nos 26, 28, and 30 Morden Road. The north half of the coach house and stables was demolished at this time to provide the development site for No. 30.
In 1957, 32 Morden Road was extensively remodeled. What we will visit today is its new reinvention and extension, completed in 2025.
Join us to visit an inspiring house transformation on a unique plot in the Cator Estate, and to learn about the convoluted planning process that resulted in a great example of reuse and excellent design.
The project is by and for Roger Hawkins and his family. Roger is a founding partner of Hawkins Brown, a 250-strong practice formed in 1988.
