Dorothy Kidd, daughter of a nationally famous physician, had a privileged upbringing in Brooklands House in what is now the Cator Estate, Blackheath in the late nineteenth century. She later wrote a memoire which provides colourful insights into life at Brooklands itself, Blackheath and Greenwich in the late Victorian period.
Society member, Paul Wright has researched many of the surprising episodes recounted in her book and will present a richly illustrated talk based on his research. The evening will include readings, a musical interlude and refreshments. Come and join us.
