Current Issues:

Better Blackheath Village Project

The Society sponsored a detailed study of the future of Blackheath Village in 2001, which led to a number of actions. The Society decided to revisit this study, 10 years on.  A number of Society Committee members and volunteers concluded a review of current issues and possible actions for the Village.  A copy of the draft report is available to view:

Blackheath Village

Graffiti Removal Team

The Graffiti Removal Team is made up of Society members who volunteer to tackle the problem rather than sit back and moan. The more volunteers, the more we can achieve. You don't need anything other than a stout pair of rubber gloves and an ability to enjoy an outdoor activity. The chemicals and brushes and buckets are provided and the company is great.

The Graffiti Removal team meet on  the first Saturday of each month, at 2.30pm outside the minicab office at Blackheath Station.

The area they cover ranges from the village itself right over to the Standard area of Blackheath, where they meet up with volunteers from the Westcombe Society.

You don't have to sign up for life but if  you'd like to help in some way Meg Dinkeldein is the co-ordinator and she would be delighted to hear from you. You can call her on 8856 3545 for more information.
